F15.0: Mental and behavioural disorders due to use of other stimulants, including caffeine Acute intoxication
You have become intoxicated through stimulants.
Stimulants are substances that have a stimulating effect on the body. Caffeine is one such substance, for example. Things like coffee contain caffeine. But amphetamines are also stimulants. They are found in some medicines or drugs. Amphetamines include, for example, crystal meth and MDMA. Ecstasy may contain MDMA.
You are intoxicated because you have consumed stimulants. Intoxication can alter things like your consciousness, perception, mood and behavior. For example, you may feel very restless or anxious. Sometimes you see things that are not really there. Your heart may also be racing or you may have a seizure.
