F15.4: Mental and behavioural disorders due to use of other stimulants, including caffeine Withdrawal state with delirium

You have stimulant withdrawal symptoms. The withdrawal alters your state of consciousness.

Stimulants are substances that have a stimulating effect on the body. Caffeine is one such substance, for example. Things like coffee contain caffeine. But amphetamines are also stimulants. They are found in some medicines or drugs. Amphetamines include, for example, crystal meth and MDMA. Ecstasy may contain MDMA.

Before a stimulant withdrawal the person has usually consumed too many stimulants over a long period of time. When someone goes through withdrawal, they have various physical symptoms, because they are consuming fewer or no stimulants. They may be tired and listless, for example. They may also find it difficult to sleep or they may have a greater appetite than before.

The withdrawal also alters your state of consciousness. For example, your awareness and memory may alter. One may also no longer know who or where one is.
