You have a mental disorder. Your thoughts or perception have also changed. You may then also misjudge reality. For example, you may think that you are being persecuted. You may also have sensory illusions. For example, you then hear or see things that are not really there. Your own thoughts might keep changing or be disconnected. You may also have other symptoms.

The disorder is also accompanied by a change in mood. You might be in exaggeratedly high spirits. Then you will have a lot of energy and feel extremely capable. As a result, you can overestimate yourself. One may also be irritable or behave abnormally. For example, you might be very talkative, restless, or require little sleep.
