The central nervous system consists of the brain and the spinal column. The spinal cord is located in the spinal column. The spinal cord is made up of nerve fibers. The brain uses the nerve fibers to exchange information with the organs, skin and muscles.
A change has occurred to tissue in your central nervous system area. Such changes are caused by an inflammation and may involve pus-filled cavities or papules made of inflammation cells.
Changes like these can press on surrounding brain tissue or the spinal column. This can result in various symptoms such as headaches or back pain. As a result, the function of parts of the brain or the spinal column may also become impaired.
