G80.2: Infantile spastic hemiplegic cerebral palsy

Since your early childhood you have been unable to move your arm and leg properly on one side of your body. This is because you have brain damage.

Many nerves run from the spinal cord and brain to the organs, skin and muscles in the body. To be able to move muscles properly, they need to be controlled by the nerves from the brain.

Since your early childhood you have been unable to move your arm and leg properly on one side of your body. The muscles in your arms and legs cramp up, too. This can be painful.

These types of mobility problems are caused by brain damage. This can occur during pregnancy, during the birth, or in the days after the birth. The brain can get damaged by toxic substances or a lack of oxygen, for example. But there are other possible causes. In a case of brain damage, certain mental capabilities may sometimes not develop properly.
