G83.6: Upper motor neuron facial paralysis

You are finding it harder, or impossible, to move parts of your face.

Many nerves run from the spinal cord and brain to the organs, skin and muscles in the body. The muscles are controlled by the nerves.

When certain areas in the brain get damaged, one may no longer be able to properly control one’s facial muscles. This is then known as a paralysis. One corner of your mouth might droop, for example.
