G90.8: Other disorders of autonomic nervous system

You have a disorder that relates to a certain part of your nervous system.

Many processes run unconsciously in the body. This includes breathing or digesting food, for example. The heartbeat or blood pressure are also adjusted independently by the body. These processes are controlled by a particular part of the nervous system.

If this part of the nervous system is damaged, organs such as the heart, intestine and bladder may stop working properly. Depending on exactly what the disorder is, there can be various symptoms. For example, there may be an irregular heartbeat, or blood pressure may be too low. There may also be problems with digestion or when urinating. You may also have pain.

Additional indicator

On medical documents, the ICD code is often appended by letters that indicate the diagnostic certainty or the affected side of the body.

  • G: Confirmed diagnosis
  • V: Tentative diagnosis
  • Z: Condition after
  • A: Excluded diagnosis
  • L: Left
  • R: Right
  • B: Both sides
