H04.9: Disorder of lacrimal system, unspecified
You have an eye condition relating to the lacrimal gland or the tear ducts.
The lacrimal gland is above the outer corner of the eye. The lacrimal gland produces the tear fluid for the eye. The film of fluid (tear film) on the eye, together with the conjunctiva and the eyelids, protects the eye from external influences. Tear fluid flows out of the eye via the tear ducts. The tear ducts begin in the inner edge of the upper and lower eyelids. In both places there is a small opening that opens into a narrow channel. The channels join and carry the tear fluid to the inside of the nose.
