The person had a cardiac arrest. It was not possible to resuscitate them.
Their heart stopped beating. There are many different reasons for a cardiac arrest. The heart itself may be diseased. Disorders in other organs or serious injuries can also cause cardiac arrest. It was not possible to resuscitate the person.
