I49.5: Sick sinus syndrome
Your heart’s pacemaker is not working properly.
The heart pumps blood through the body. Inside the heart are 4 chambers. There are 2 heart atria and 2 ventricles. Both heart atria and both ventricles are separated from each other by a partition. The pacemaker for our heartbeat is in the heart’s right atrium. The pacemaker normally emits regular, small electrical currents for the heart. The electrical currents trigger the heartbeat.
Your pacemaker is not working properly. As a result, your heart may beat too quickly, too slowly, or irregularly.
