I62.1: Nontraumatic extradural haemorrhage

You have bleeding in your head. The bleed is between your cranial bone and your brain.

The brain is surrounded by various linings (meninges). The brain is also protected by the firm cranial bone. You have had a bleed between the meninges and the cranial bone.

There is not a lot of room in one’s head. When there is bleeding inside the head, the brain can become compressed. Brain tissue may be damaged as a result. This may cause one to have headaches or lose consciousness, for example.
