You have a disorder as a result of which your artery walls get thicker.
Arteries are blood vessels that transport blood away from the heart. They supply all the tissue in the body with oxygen-rich blood.
When artery walls get thicker, the arteries may get narrower and less blood is able to flow through them. If the renal arteries narrow, for example, it can result in high blood pressure. If the arteries in the neck narrow, the blood supply to the brain may deteriorate. The cause of this disorder is unknown.
