Fluid has been deposited in your larynx.
The larynx can be seen particularly well in men as a bulging area at the front of the neck. This area is also called the Adam’s apple. The larynx is important for breathing and speaking. It consists mainly of cartilage, ligaments, and muscles. The vocal cords are also located in the larynx. The inner wall of the larynx is covered with mucous membrane.
In your case, fluid has been deposited in this mucous membrane. As a result, this mucous membrane is swollen. Your airways may thus be narrower. If fluid is deposited in this mucous membrane, you may get a sore throat or shortness of breath.
