K00.2: Abnormalities of size and form of teeth

In your case, the size or shape of one or more of your teeth has changed.

Every tooth consists of 3 sections: the crown, the tooth neck (cervix) and the tooth root. The crown is the visible part of the tooth. The tooth neck is covered by the gums. The tooth root keeps the tooth in the jawbone.

The size or shape of teeth can change in different ways. A changed tooth may look like a peg or a “T”, for example. Teeth may also be smaller or larger than usual. Certain parts of a tooth may also be duplicated. This is the case, for example, when a tooth has an additional root. A tooth may also be partly or completely split. In contrast, adjacent teeth may be merged into one another.
