K12.3: Oral mucositis (ulcerative)
Your oral mucous membrane is inflamed.
Wounds have formed in your oral mucous membrane due to the inflammation. The throat may also be affected by this. There are many causes of an inflamed oral mucous membrane. For example, they include pathogens, particular drugs or irradiation.
An inflamed oral mucous membrane is typically red, swollen and painful. Sour or spicy foods can make the symptoms worse. An inflamed oral mucous membrane may bleed or cause bad breath.
