K55.32: Angiodysplasia of small intestine with bleeding
Blood vessels in your small intestine are changed. There has been bleeding from the changed blood vessels.
The intestines are made up of the small intestine and the large intestine or colon. Most of the nutrients are absorbed in the small intestine. The large intestine (colon) is where water and salt are withdrawn from the stool. The last segment of the large intestine (colon) is the rectum. Stool then leaves the body through the anus.
There are many blood vessels in the wall of the intestines. Changed blood vessels in the intestines may be dilated, larger and more sensitive than normal blood vessels. In your case, there was bleeding from such a changed blood vessel. If there is bleeding in the intestines, you may have blood in your feces or the feces can have a very dark appearance.
