L28.2: Other prurigo

Your skin is itchy.

There are many reasons why the skin can be itchy. Medication or other disorders can cause itchiness, for example. The skin may also itch if it is very dry. If the itchy spots are scratched the skin can get damaged. The skin then sometimes looks red and scaly in those places. Moreover, raised areas or nodules can form on the skin.
