Your skin is red.
The skin is made up of various layers. Beneath the top layer of the skin there are many blood vessels.
With various illnesses, the small blood vessels in the skin may widen. As a result, more blood than usual flows through the blood vessels. The skin then appears red or bluish in the affected area.
