L60.1: Onycholysis

One or more of your nails have separated from the nail bed.

Nails in your hands or feet are affected.

The hard, visible part of the nail is the nail plate. Below this is the nail bed with the blood vessels. Skin disorders or injuries can cause the nail plate to separate from the nail bed.

When a nail has detached, a tingling may be felt in the finger or toe concerned. The nail concerned may not grow back properly, either.
