L60.4: Beau lines

Your nails have grooved lines.

Nails in your hands or feet are affected.

Nails get grooved lines when the nail stops growing properly. There are various reasons for this, such as skin conditions or medication, for example. Grooved lines may also form when someone has been seriously ill due to pathogens. The lines run from side to side across the nail. In the lines, the nail is usually white. In some cases, only one line is visible on the nail.
