M25.44: Effusion of joint Hand
You have accumulations of fluid in one or more joints in your hand.
The hand is made up of a lot of small bones and joints. Immediately after the forearm is the carpus. Then comes the metacarpus and then the individual fingers.
Fluid can accumulate in the joint if the joint is worn or inflamed, for example. When fluid collects in the joint, the joint may swell up. The joint concerned may also be painful.
