The fatty tissue in various parts of your body has become inflamed.

There is fatty tissue beneath the skin, for example. If the fatty tissue beneath the skin becomes inflamed, small nodules may form below the skin. These nodules may be painful. The skin above the nodules may turn red. You may also have a high temperature and muscle soreness. This disorder can also affect internal organs.

In your case, the condition is recurring at intervals of weeks or months.
