Soft tissue in your ankle or foot is turning to bone.

Soft tissue includes muscles, fatty tissue and connective tissue, for example. With this disorder, the soft tissue first swells up and then turns to bone. It can be caused by injuries or through infection by pathogens.

When soft tissue turns to bone it can be painful. It may also be that you are no longer able to move the affected areas of your body properly. The disorder can cause the feet to become deformed.
