M61.52: Other ossification of muscle Upper arm
You have ossifications in muscles in your upper arm or elbow.
When muscle tissue gets damaged, various substances are released into the tissue. Some of these substances can cause bone to form. Over a period of several weeks, muscle cells can then turn to bone.
Ossifications can cause hard areas in the affected muscles. This can cause pain in that location. It may also be that you are no longer able to move the affected areas of your body properly.
