Nodules have formed beneath the skin in one or more parts of your body.
Nodules like these can form when there is excessive growth of connective tissue. Connective tissue is found all over the body and fulfills various tasks. Connective tissue contains lots of fine fibers. Thus it can protect or stabilize organs. There is connective tissue beneath the skin and around muscles, for example. Tendons, ligaments and cartilage are also made of connective tissue. The cause of excessive growth of connective tissue is not yet known.
The nodules can appear within a short space of time. They may be painful.
