M86.37: Chronic multifocal osteomyelitis Ankle and foot
You have had inflamed bone in your ankle or foot for a long time.
There are various reasons for inflamed bone. The inflammation may be caused by pathogens. The pathogens can get into the bone via the blood, after open injuries, or after operations.
You have the inflamed bone in more than one place.
When bone is inflamed the affected area may be painful. Pus may form, too. The bones may be damaged by the inflammation. When bones are damaged they may be unusually fragile, for example.
