N34.2: Other urethritis

Your urethra has become inflamed.

When you have to pass water, the urine flows from the bladder via the urethra and out.

The urethra can become inflamed due to a foreign body, for example. This might be a kidney stone or a tube in the urethra.

People with an inflamed urethra often experience pain or a burning sensation when urinating. They often feel a constant urge to urinate. The urethral discharge may be mucoid (glassy) or purulent. An open sore can also sometimes appear at the opening of the urethra.
