N44.0: Torsion of testicle
Your testicle has become twisted.
The testicles are located outside the body, and are covered by skin. That is the scrotum. The epididymides are right next to the testicles. The sperm cells mature and are stored in the epididymes. The spermatic cord goes from the scrotum into the pelvis through the groin. The spermatic cord contains the spermatic duct (vas deferens), blood vessels and nerves. During climax, the spermatic duct carries the sperm outside the body.
Your testicle has become twisted. Your spermatic cord or epididymis may also have become twisted. There can be different reasons for this. For example, the testicle can become twisted if it fits too loosely in the scrotum. A twisted testicle causes severe pain in the scrotum or in the lower abdomen. The affected testicle may be swollen and be a little higher up than usual.
