N82.9: Female genital tract fistula, unspecified
An abnormal opening (fistula) has developed in the area of your genital organs.
The internal female genital organs include the uterus, the fallopian tubes and ovaries. The vagina is also one of the internal genital organs and goes from the uterus to the outside of the body.
A fistula may develop between two organs following surgery or injury, for example. It may also develop in the case of persistent inflammation.
This opening can cause various symptoms. You may have pain at the affected site. The fistula may also become inflamed. In that case you may have a high temperature, and pus may appear in the fistula.
