N85.7: Haematometra
Blood has accumulated in your uterus.
The uterus or womb sits in the pelvis and is pear-shaped. The narrower part extends downward into the vagina and is called the cervix. When a woman is pregnant, the child grows in her uterus.
When you have your period, blood normally flows out of your body through the cervix and vagina. If this flow is constricted, blood can accumulate in the uterus. The uterus may then become enlarged and painful.
