N99.18: Urethral stricture after other medical measures

Your urethra is constricted as a result of damage during an examination or treatment procedure.

When you have to pass water, the urine flows from the bladder via the urethra and out.

During certain examination or treatment procedures, for example, a tube or probe is inserted into the urethra. This can damage the urethra. As a result, your urethra has become constricted.

If your urethra is narrow, you may not be able to urinate properly. For example, the flow of urine may be very weak. You may feel the urge to urinate very often, particularly at night-time. The urinary passages may also become inflamed as a result of the constricted urethra.
