You have an increased amount of fluid that has built up in your body during your pregnancy.
The body changes in pregnancy. Among other things, the body excretes less salt and less fluid in pregnancy. As a result, an increased amount of fluid may build up in the tissue. This can cause the legs, hands or face, for example, to swell up.
