O60.3: Preterm delivery without spontaneous labour

You gave birth prematurely.

Children are usually born from the 38th week of pregnancy. A premature birth occurs before the 38th week of pregnancy.

With a natural birth, labor is important for the child to be born. During labor, the muscles of the uterus contract. During the birth contractions push the child out of the uterus. Contractions take place mainly towards the end of the pregnancy and during childbirth. In a natural labor, the womb contracts by itself, without any artificial stimulation.

You gave birth prematurely without any natural labor.

You either had an induced birth or a Caesarean section. An induced birth involves using drugs or certain medical procedures to stimulate the womb to go into labor. A Caesarean section involves giving birth to the child via surgical procedure.
