The child’s spinal cord or brain were injured during the birth.

The brain is located inside the head. It receives, processes and stores sensory impressions. The brain controls movements and various physical functions. The spine is made up of the individual vertebrae. Between every 2 vertebrae there is a vertebral disc. The spinal cord is located in the spinal column. The spinal cord is made up of nerve fibers. The brain uses the nerve fibers to exchange information with the organs, skin and muscles.
