Q14.3: Congenital malformation of choroid
The choroid of your eye is changed due to a defect.
The choroid is the middle layer in the eye sheath. It lies between the sclera and the retina. There are lots of blood vessels in this layer. The choroid supplies the retina below it with oxygen and nutrients.
While developing in the womb, many different types of tissue develop in the body. The organs and body parts develop out of the various types of tissue. If tissue fails to develop properly, defects can occur. If the choroid does not develop properly, vision in the affected eye can be limited.
