Q52.5: Fusion of labia

The labia have been fused since birth.

The external female genital organs include the labia, the clitoris and the skin around the vagina. There is an outer and an inner pair of labia. The inner pair is smaller than the outer.

The left and right labia can be fused. When labia are fused, bacteria can get into the urinary tract more easily. The bacteria can then cause a bladder infection, for example.
