Die Hoden befinden sich außen am Körper in einer Hülle aus Haut. Das ist der Hodensack. Die Hoden bilden männliche Geschlechtshormone. Zu den männlichen Geschlechtshormonen gehört zum Beispiel Testosteron.
Während der Entwicklung im Mutterleib entstehen im Körper viele verschiedene Arten von Gewebe. Aus den verschiedenen Arten von Gewebe entwickeln sich die Organe und Körperteile. Wenn sich Gewebe während der Zeit im Mutterleib nicht richtig entwickeln, können Organe zum Beispiel zu klein oder verändert sein. Möglicherweise ist die Funktion der Hoden beeinträchtigt, wenn sie sich nicht richtig entwickeln.
