Q72.1: Congenital absence of thigh and lower leg with foot present
You are missing your thigh and lower leg on one or both sides. Your foot is connected directly to the body on the affected side. This condition is congenital, which means you were born with it.
The legs develop in the first few weeks of pregnancy. This development can be disturbed for various reasons. This may be the case with certain congenital diseases. Taking certain medication during pregnancy can also adversely affect the development of the legs.
