R29.4: Clicking hip
Your hip joint is not as stable as it normally is.
The hip joints are outside, to the side of the pelvis. They connect the pelvis to the thighbones. The hip joints enable the legs to be moved in different directions. The thighbone is held firmly to the pelvis by ligaments and muscles. This means that the thighbone does not slip away from the pelvis and the hip joint is stable.
Your thighbone is not held that tightly to the pelvis. This makes your hip joint less stable, causing the thighbone to slip away from the pelvis. When the thighbone slides back into the pelvis, you hear a snapping or clicking noise.
