R30.1: Vesical tenesmus
You are having urination problems.
The urethra is sealed by a sphincter muscle. This stops us passing urine involuntarily. Your sphincter muscle has cramped up. A cramp of this type can be caused by an inflammation or by a foreign body, for example. If the sphincter cramps up, it can be painful.
