You have been tested for a specific fluid. Changes have been detected in your sample.
Fluid from a joint or wound may have been examined, for example. This sample normally only contains a certain amount of different substances. These substances include certain cells and certain proteins, for example.
For example, your chromosomes may have been examined and a change established.
When beginning its development, every single cell in the body contains a complete blueprint of the body. This blueprint consists of genetic information. The genetic information is encrypted in the chromosomes. Every human cell normally contains 23 chromosome pairs, i.e. a total of 46 chromosomes.
If the amount of substances in the sample has changed, this can sometimes be an indication of disease. The results can also depend on when the sample is taken or how the sample is stored until it is examined, for example.
