S01.35: Open wound: Auditory tube
You have injured the passageway between your middle ear and the throat. You have an open wound as a result of the injury.
The skin usually prevents pathogens from getting into the body. When you have an open wound the skin is damaged. This means that pathogens can get into the wound.
The ear consists of 3 sections: the outer ear, the middle ear, and the inner ear. The middle ear can be ventilated via the connection from the middle ear to the throat.
