S01.37: Open wound: Tympanic membrane
You have injured your tympanic membrane. You have an open wound as a result of the injury.
The skin usually prevents pathogens from getting into the body. When you have an open wound the skin is damaged. This means that pathogens can get into the wound.
The ear consists of 3 sections: the outer ear, the middle ear, and the inner ear. The eardrum separates the outer ear from the middle ear.
