S03.4: Sprain and strain of jaw

You have dislocated your jaw joint.

The jaw joint connects the mobile lower jaw bone to the skull bone. The jaw joints are located to the right and left, fairly close to the ears. A number of ligaments and cartilage discs support the jaw joint and make it mobile. In your case the ligaments or cartilage have been strained. For example, the ligaments might have been overstretched.

You may not be able to open or close your mouth properly as a result of the injury. You may also feel some pain, for example.
