S10.0: Contusion of throat
You have injured your throat.
The throat begins behind the mouth and nose. The throat connects the mouth and nose with the windpipe (trachea) and gullet (oesophagus).
You have bruising to your throat. You can bruise your throat in an accident, for example. The areas concerned can swell up and be painful. Sometimes black spots form. Usually there isn’t any open injury on skin with a bruise.
