S25.81: Injury of subdural blood vessels at thorax level
You have damaged one or more blood vessels in your ribcage.
Several blood vessels run through the ribcage. For example, there are blood vessels for the heart and lungs, and the head and arms.
In your case, one or more blood vessels in the spinal cord have been damaged. The spinal cord is located in the spinal column. The spinal cord is made up of nerve fibers. The brain uses the nerve fibers to exchange information with the organs, skin and muscles.
When a blood vessel is damaged, there is usually bleeding. If the bleeding is heavy, blood may collect in the tissue. There may then be some pain. When there is bleeding below the skin, a bruise sometimes forms.
