S85.3: Injury of greater saphenous vein at lower leg level
You have injured one or more blood vessels in your lower leg.
Veins are blood vessels that transport the blood back to the heart.
You have damaged one or more veins on the inside of your lower leg.
When a blood vessel is damaged, there is usually bleeding. If the bleeding is heavy, blood may collect in the tissue. You can then have leg pain. When there is bleeding below the skin, a bruise sometimes forms.
