You have injured your foot. As a result, ligaments have been overstretched.

The ankle joint connects the foot to the lower leg. The ankle joint is stabilized by various ligaments. You have overstretched some ligaments on the outside of your foot.

The ligaments in your foot may get damaged if you twist your ankle, for example. The ligaments then come under a lot of strain for a short time. The ligaments may then get overstretched. The injury can cause pain in the foot, for example. You may also be unable to walk properly.
