Zink ist ein Schwermetall. Zink wird unter anderem in der Industrie verwendet.

Ein Metall oder eine metallische Verbindung kann den Körper auf verschiedene Weisen schädigen. Die Beschwerden hängen oft davon ab, auf welche Art man mit dem Metall in Kontakt gekommen ist. Zum Beispiel kann es zu Hautschäden kommen, wenn man Hautkontakt mit einem Metall hatte. Wenn man ein Metall mit der Nahrung aufnimmt oder Metall-Dämpfe einatmet, kann es zu Vergiftungen kommen.

Zink kann Verätzungen oder Magen-Darm-Beschwerden wie Erbrechen und Durchfall verursachen. Wenn man Zinkdämpfe einatmet, kann man auch Zinkfieber bekommen. Dabei hat man typischerweise Beschwerden wie Fieber, Schüttelfrost oder Gliederschmerzen.
