T60.1: Toxic effect: Halogenated insecticides

You have been poisoned by an insecticide.

There are many different insecticides. They differ in terms of their chemical components and the way they work. You have been poisoned by an insecticide which, for example, affects the function of the nervous system. The nervous system includes the brain and the spinal cord, for example. Many nerves run from the spinal cord and brain to the organs, skin and muscles in the body.

Insecticides can get into the body in different ways. They can be absorbed via contact with the skin, for example.

Insecticide poisoning can be accompanied by various symptoms. There may be vomiting, for example. If you have inhaled certain insecticides, your respiratory tract may also be irritated. Organs such as the liver, kidneys or heart may be damaged. You can also suffer seizures. You may also pass out.
